Introducing MKI
A South African national liberation venture in technology and political science, The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is a new institute of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
The establishment of MKI is premised in the institution´s desire to enhance economic development through science, engineering, technology and mathematics skills.
This "skill enhancement" is not only for the current and future workforce, but also encompasses all levels of government officials.
This is a task that MKI facilitates through focused programmes with the intention of being in line with
the national government´s objective of a developmental state.
It is the broad aim of the institute, therefore, to contribute to a people-centred economic development. MKI sees this development achievable through a service delivery system led by technically skilled South Africans, who have a clear understanding of our political history. A history which was characterised by poor skills and underdevelopment among the majority of South Africans.
