Values, Strategic objectives and key performance indicators

The Moses Kotane Institute is founded on a value system that places the needs of the people first, where consultation with government and STEM stakeholders is of paramount importance in decision making. The core employees and associates of MKI, by virtue of being service providers or collaborators, share the following strategic goals:

  • Providing science and technology skills for greater economic development and service delivery to the members of our society: through availing recognised secondary schools science education and further training, and in encouraging career paths in Software programming and BPO (Covered in Programmes One, Six and Seven).
  • Enhancing access to science, technology, education and mathematics qualifications at higher education institutions, so that the future workforce is well equipped for economic development and service delivery in a modern South Africa (Covered in Programmes Two, Six and Seven).
  • Enhancing the skills of existing, teachers, managers and leaders in government, so that science and technology are the basis of their leadership in service delivery and economic development in a rapidly transforming South Africa (Covered in Programme Three, Four and Five).
  • Underpinning science and technology oriented developmental approach with a clear understanding of the historical perspective of poverty, lack of knowledge, lack of skills and associated underdevelopment through continuous and relevant political education and philosophy for good governance (Overall Programmes).
