EDTEA, IN A FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) is in the forefront of fighting Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) in KwaZulu-Natal. EDTEA MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube is ensuring that people are not consuming illegal and dangerous products by arresting those with counterfeit goods. According to EDTEA’s Facebook post of 23 April 2020, more than fifty people were arrested yesterday, 22 April 2020, for being in possession of counterfeit goods, in Durban Central. Dube-Ncube is also an Operation Sukuma Sakhe Champion of uThukela District, where she is working closely with Mayor Councillor AS Mazibuko, local leaders, healthcare professionals and law enforcement agencies to ensure adherence to lockdown regulations.
