EXECUTIVE MANAGER : INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Background:   The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution is looking for an experienced and qualifying individual to fulfil this role.  Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.

Minimum Requirements:  A Master’s Degree in Information Technology/ Innovation from an accredited Tertiary Institution at NQF Level 9; 5 years executive management experience; Thorough understanding of 4IR and digital strategies of the country; Working knowledge of data management across the research lifecycle, including creating, processing, analysis, preservation, access, and reuse of research data; Practical knowledge of Technology Frameworks, Legislation and Policies.

Remuneration:                DPSA Level 14

Duration:                         06 months

Responsibilities:             Strategic leadership and operational direction to the unit; Lead and direct innovation and technology projects; Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of existing internal controls, governance and risk management of all business processes; ensure effective stakeholder engagement and management; oversee the unit’s financial targets and ensure strict compliance with budget; strategically manage the sub-unit managers in terms of duties, responsibilities and performance targets in accordance with the strategic plan.
