Background:  The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination  and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution is looking for an experienced and qualifying individual to fulfil this new role.  Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.

Minimum Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Communications/Digital Marketing/ Communication/B.Com Degree in Digital Marketing or a combination of a Bachelor’s Degree in related fields and an Advanced Diploma in Digital Marketing and or Advanced Diploma in Communications (Advanced Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma) each qualification should be from an accredited Tertiary Institution at NQF Level 7, i.e. for a combination both qualifications must be NQF level 7 each); English First/First Additional Language in Matric. Three years’ experience (which excludes internship/on-the-job-training/experiential learning) in the role of communications using latest Digital strategies, including but not limited to: Measuring the impact of Digital activities and campaigns, Writing Media Statements, Newsletters, Social Media Platforms, Web Design and Administration, Graphic Designing, Photography, Videography, Editing, including video editing). A valid driver’s licence with own transport. A qualification with Communications/Brand Strategy Development an added advantage.

Core competencies:       Excellent verbal, writing, presentation and overall digital communication skills. Innovative techniques, creativity, integrity, diligence, excellent team member, self-reliance, collaboration skills, stakeholder engagement skills and general professionalism in all areas.

Responsibilities:  Responsible for executing all Internal and External marketing and communication strategy and duties of the Moses Kotane Institute, through print, radio, television, website, charts, scripts, photography, videography, blogging, social media platforms digitally and otherwise, either as part of a specific campaign or on a holistic level, in an innovative manner; Brand strategy, maintenance, and awareness; Measuring the impact of Digital activities and campaigns, Writing Media Statements, Newsletters, Scripts, Annual Reports Social Media Platform content, Web Design and Administration (including content), Graphic Designing, Photography, Videography, Editing, including video editing); Analysing relevant data and metrics, editing content, ensure professional and brand compliant output of all official communication. Organising, administering and project management of events and exhibitions for the organisation.
