Applications are invited for the position of Independent Contractor Research Practitioner: Statistics based at La Mercy.  The successful applicant will be reporting to the Manager Statistics.

 

Background:                           The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is looking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified South African Citizens to fill the position of an Independent Contractor – Statistics Research Practitioner. The Position will be responsible for assisting with research activities within the Maritime and Econometrics Unit.

Minimum Requirements:         Applicants must have a valid Honour’s degree in Economics/Statistics or related NQF level 8 field (Masters would be an added advantage) from an accredited tertiary institution. Minimum 2 years’ experience in research support role.

Core competencies:               Analysis and problem solving, information seeking, stress tolerance, reliability, integrity, self-reliance / Independent , above average oral and written communication, networking, developing relationships, organising and prioritising, technical and professional knowledge/skills.

Responsibilities:                     Position Duties, inter alia: Research Project Coordination, conduct assigned research, Collect Data, Analyse Data, analyse research trends, evaluating economic issues using statistical software and report writing. Present research findings to relevant stakeholders

 Terms of Appointment:          The incumbent to the above position will be offered a 4 (four) month Independent  Contractor appointment with remuneration at DPSA level 10.
